Hello everyone!
I just wanted to update about my first week in my new school!
As most of you know, i just started cosmetology studies, they take 3years. And FYI it's nothing like in US , in Finland, cosmetology is just like being a nurse, but taking care of skin. We study a lot different types of skin/foot/hand/face/nail diseases and learn to cure them. Also we do have some spa treatment classes and some light makeup classes (makeup studies are only few week thing so it's really basic stuff)
And well, we also study massages and different types of skin treatments, like facial masks, body masks, handcare,footcare...etc
Anyway, the only thing that's actually challenging for me in this school is that i had to change my style a lot haha.
Well, i'm not sad or mad about it, it's just hard for me to do "neutral" looks and be without my piercings.

Also waking up so early is challenging. And that my schooldays last usually something like 8hours.
I am soooo sick of my everyday look. I just want to wear a wig, throw some glitter on my face..
I'm so pretty.
Even my clothes are super boring. I have to wear white shirt everyday until i get my cosmetologist uniform.
Also, i can't wear heels, so i have to wear sneakers all the time...
Need to dye & cut my hair asap. It's hideous. Gonna bleach and kill it when i get time and money.
I also don't have any lashes or lenses on. So weird.
Luckily i own so many white shirts lol. Still boring tho.
Some teachers told that we should only wear neutral colored makeup but i did a blue look just because i got so sick of the freaking brown that i wear everyday...
Yesterday we did some hand massaging, it was surprisingly difficult!
And today we studied some bone structure.
Nice bodybuilder arms here.
I just wish i could look like this at school, boo!
But haha, if i want to get customers and look like professional, i have to look "neutral" ~
What do you study?

Picture #1 of you is so f*** gorgeous O.O
ReplyDeleteYou look fab!
You look great even without the glamorous makeup. I guess it's fine if you use some colour in your makeup at school, just don't make it as dark as you're used to. And I think in the end all these sacrifices will be worth it. :)

ReplyDeleteWow, I still think you look very beautiful even withou piercings and only little make-up! But I totally understand how you feel. When I started my studies (Biotechnology) I had a hard time to get used to wearing no make-up at all to the laboratory classes! Especially since I have quite bad skin and felt very uncomfortable not covering it up... I still have the chance to wear make-up during the theory lessons, so it's not that bad, but as soon as I start to work I probably won't wear any make-up during the week anymore, only on week-ends... I have a practical training semester starting in September and from what I heard we're not even allowed to wear contact lenses to work x_x so I'll have to go with glasses and without make-up @_@
ReplyDeleteI'm still wearing mascara and draw my eyebrows on anyway... because they're blond and since I dye my hair black I refude to look like a total dork every day :'D but I wouldn't wear anything else... I kinda got used to it, and also, after all it's for the safety of your work because the make-up can cause contamination in the lab etc. so I understand....
It's really interesting to hear what you learn at school! looking forward to more updates :D
I was the same when I was in college, I live in Ireland and studied Theatrical and media makeup along with fashion and photographic, We had to stick strictly to our navy uniform and very very nuetral makeup which sucks when you are a crazy makeup fan. In saying that though our makeup would be taken off so many times to be used as models for other girls that it was fine to not even wear makeup some days which was something I had to get used to!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous, with or without your wild looks! It's actually good to see the more natural side of you, even though your transformations are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI study occupational therapy!
Neutral look is also simple eye makeup and super colorful lips! :-) maybe u should try that?
ReplyDeleteWow :D wish u strong nerves ;) U look really stunning with neutral make-up also;) I study English;p
ReplyDeleteI'm in Finland, Rauma right now but leaving on Monday :(
Where do u live?:)
I live in Lower Saxony, Germany and our school starts at 3th September. I'll study fashion design for two years on a school, it's not a university (I don't have my A-Levels yet but get them when I finished these two years on that school).
ReplyDeleteI think you look beautiful no matter how much or how little colour you wear, but I totally understand wanting to rock your style and not being able. I hid my tattoos when I was studying because not everybody likes them and they're still frown upon : / Good luck with cosmetology school ^^ xx
ReplyDeleteBoring as you feel your new look may be, you still look amazing. I wish I could look that good on a "boring" day...haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm studying psychology. I feel like the oldest student because I waited so long to start but at least I'm doing it now. :)
You are really beautiful even without lots of make up !!:D
ReplyDeleteI study hospitality management, so it's even less free but we can wear heels yeee ^^
Aina ihana! <3
ReplyDeleteJa minä opiskelen japania ja ruotsia yliopistossa :I Tja.
Serbian language and literature with general linguistics.
ReplyDeleteGetting my master's degree now, module: Serbian as a foreign language.
You look great even with "neutral" makeup, but I do get that it's about how you feel.
Ohhoh, näytätpä erilaiselta ilman lävistyksiä ja "neutraalilla" meikillä. :D Mutta erittäin positiivisellä tavalla. ;)
ReplyDeleteI really think that this neutral look suits you too, but I can see that it's not really you :D Hopefully you'll do some more colorful make-ups for the weekends and show those to us too~ :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm starting my studies at the University of Lapland and I'm going to major in fashion design :D
Omg, that's some creepy looking chairs o.o
ReplyDeleteTulee ihan omat kouluajat mieleen, mä valmistun vuonna -07 kosmetologiksi. :)
ReplyDeleteI finished my studies in tourism and hotel management last December and now i want to go to a makeup artist school :)
ReplyDeleteI went to uni to study science, speciically biology and I wore leather pants/black jeans, leather vest/ black v neck t-shirt and a leather jacket with knee high boots and black smoky winged out eyes and red lips. And a white lab coat for lab classes, of course.
ReplyDeleteOpiskelen toista vuotta parturi-kampaajaksi.
ReplyDeleteI studied computer game design and I did a short course in makeup. The makeup course I did wasn't very good :/ I skipped a lot of classes but I still passed it because it was so easy :O
ReplyDeleteWhen you are qualified I'm sure you can go back to your style ^_^
You still look lovely! I went to cosmetology school, but I'm in the US, so I was happy I pretty much got to look how I wanted with the exception of wearing a uniform. Good luck with your studies! I hope you love it and are having a blast with it even if you can't wear your awesome style :-).
ReplyDeleteHola.
Saludos.
English:
Hey.
Congratulations, really studying is what opens the doors to new opportunities, and career you've chosen is great, because not only reflex beauty in yourself, if you give more people the opportunity to have it. Go ahead, and you look cute even if you use neutral colors. You are very brave and I hope that soon you finish your career for us to follow teaching of beauty.
Greetings.
Sorry for my english!!! jejejeje :)
Honestly, I love your hair and perfect eyeliner even in the neutral looks. I love the blue look, too. I hope school is wonderful for you.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I study Advertising and photography, and I'm graduating from BA, so I understand you!
Kisses!!!!
Opiskelen yleissivistystä. .___.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was studying, I could do everything I wanted - colorful makeup, goth hairstyles and torn stockings - but now I work in the consulting business and have to wear neutral makeup and suits all day :(
I'm currently doing my Diploma in Beauty Therapy. I've already graduated with my Certificate in Beauty Services, so I'm a qualified Beautian and nail technition.
ReplyDeleteJust keep at it, I had to tone down my style to. But since starting my diploma, I have been the make-up artest for 2 hair dressers in regional hair compitions, I'm being taken on an all expenses paid trip to the supreme hair comps in 2 months and I have been asked to go to fashion week to be a makeup artist there.
Thought I should let you know that it does all pay off.
Keep going, and you will do great =)
I studied makeup courses last year so there was no limit to how much makeup you can wear, though most the time you would turn up to class with none since you'll work with a partner in class to learn how to do professional application. The only thing I would said was challenging was waking early and having to wear an ugly black t-shirt and cannot wear short skirts.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your course :)
ReplyDeleteThat one picture of you reminds me of Olivia Wilde ! :) You're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome even without a lot of make up and in neutral colours and clothes.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you are willing to change your style for school/work. It doesn't change who you are.
I hope you'll do great in school and have great success <3
I'm studying fahion design and I'm very lucky because it doesn't matter what we look like. I always wear all my piercings and can show my tattoos and blue hair. I also wear coloured contacts when I'm not too tired to put them in in the morning xD
ReplyDeletecheck out this blog: http://love-aesthetics.blogspot.de/
ReplyDeleteshe has a lot of cool white stuff....not really your style but some pieces are so great and inspiring...
millon julkaiset videon "me singing", niinkuin siinä listassa lukee! oon oottanut sitä varmaan ikuisuuden. ):
ReplyDeleteI love all your looks! Really! But it's pretty sad you can't experiment more with make-up there, wear what you want etc. I'm studying Japanese, and I'm lucky we don't have any dress or look code. So if I'm not too tired in the morning I can always put my lenses and a bunch of make up. But during the hot weather I just stick to the basics, it's too much to put it all on and then watch my make up melt in the heat. Enjoy your studying <3
ReplyDeleteI have studied hairdressing a while ago and now in September I'm taking a pro makeup class for 2 weeks =) I'm really impatient and I hope it's gonna be good coz it was freaking expensive !!! I'll finally be able to find a job that I love when I'm done and have my diploma !
ReplyDeleteCourage for school, I know it's not fun to wear neutrals all the time but you'll end up with an good education that you like and that's worth it =)
xxx Vee
Actually studying cosmetology in the US is pretty much exactly what it is in FIN. All the MUA's we have here went to make up artistry classes, and girl with your talent that's what you should do too. I think in FIN it will cost you about 3500 euros and its about 6 months but it'd be so worth it!
ReplyDeleteI'm studying to become a stylist. It's quite hard to ^^ ve do makeup, hairdo's, nails and massage :P
ReplyDeleteI'm in my last year os psychology, but i have tatoos and wear a loooot of makeup everyday, my hair is pink and orange and i think i'll be like this the rest of my life (i hope so) I hope people think it will be fun to go to a cool psychologist hihi
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm just so happy about that I study "only" graphic design, and can wear what I want :D. In cosmetology you have to study also what a nurse has to, because then you can also do piercings and tattooing as well(..here it's so, don't know if in Finland it's so..) - and I think that's pretty cool :)
ReplyDeletemaybe you should come work in the US after you graduate or even the UK. instead of looking "neutral professional" doing you're normal makeup would showcase your talent and make you MORE appealing to the clients. it's curious to me that is not the case in finland! goodluck! i'm sure you'll do great things
ReplyDeletei am doing cosmetology in the US and i'm thinking...maybe you should come work in the US or maybe even the UK after you graduate. instead of "neutral professional", wearing your regular makeup would showcase your talent and make you MORE appealing to the clients. it's curious to me that is not the case in finland! but i wish you good luck! i'm sure you'll do wonderful tings where ever you end up
ReplyDeleteWow, You are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI study... huuummmm donno how we call this study in english... I study how to make movies, in order to become film director... So I can wear what I want, but in France people are very narrow minded, and I now that a lot of people don't like my style ^^ but I really don't care XD
ReplyDeleteI am currently doing Esthetics. We have a uniform too, scrubs and a lab coat, but they do not care about makeup, I wear many colors all the time. :( Sad that they don't want you to express your self!
ReplyDeleteomg ur school shouldn't tell you how to look.. you would get amazing clients just how you do your makeup its amazing i luv it
ReplyDeleteomg you defiantly need to bring your talent to the US.. we love makeup look like yours amazing work girl . .. keep it up..
